THE PUB

Following a full refurbishment in 2019 the bar area downstairs has been transformed into a cosy and relaxing Public House. Located within the locally known 'West Bar Triangle' alongside close friends and nationally renowned drinking spots The Bar Stewards and Shakespeares, we have fast become an essential stop in the ever expanding Sheffield craft beer scene.

Historically, The Crown Inn, as it has been formerly known, has witnessed everything from reputed Chartist plots to storm the old town hall, a militant trade union-instigated assasination in the snug in the 1850s, and infamous late night parties overseen by the licensees who gave the pub one of its old names, Ruth & Barry. These days, the pub retains its traditional two room layout, comfortably furnished and smartly decorated, with our snug now hosting popular tasting events and varied beer showcases.

Behind the bar we're always serving five hand pulled real ales including two from local brewery Abbeydale and eight rotating keg lines showcasing a variety of styles and strengths from all over the world. We pride ourselves on serving rare speciality beers and so have something for everyone with a vast selection of wines (curated with the help of renowned local merchants Le Bon Vin), spirits, including over thirty single malt whisky, aged rums, innovative gins and vintage ports and brandy as well as soft drinks and zero alcohol beers. If this seems daunting our knowledgable staff are able to provide you with the perfect choices for your visit. There is no kitchen on site but we do have a great selection of traditional bar snacks and pies freshly prepared locally and delivered by Kevin's Pies.
